Job Overview
Location: Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin – relocation required.
Job Type: Contract – based in Columbus, OH (temporary role).
Job DescriptionLead Technician Levels: Lead Technician – 5+ years of lead or management experience.
L4 Technician – 5+ years of dedicated DC experience.
L3 Technician – 3+ years of DC experience.
Shift
Schedule:
A side Days:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, & Every other Wednesday 6a – 6p
A side Nights:
Same days as above except 6p – 6a
B side Days:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Every other Wednesday 6a – 6p
B side Nights:
Same as Above except 6p – 6a.
- Perform break‑fix tasks for GPUs, servers, network, and cabling.
- Land fully populated GPU or network racks – rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot‑air containment, overhead cable containment trays.
- Interpret BOMs and ensure all materials are accounted for.
- Install, test, and label copper and fiber infrastructures; patch fiber and copper cables.
- Configure GPU deployments in servers and maintain proper installation.
- Manage tickets using ITSM tools and provide advanced troubleshooting support.
- Assist network admins on server or switch issues – cable replacements, optics, routing.
- Deploy and configure GPU in servers – ensuring functionality and compliance.
- Travel as required and work in a Microsoft data center environment.
- 3–10+ years of deployment and/or break‑fix experience in a data center.
- Extensive experience landing fully populated GPU or network racks within a data center environment.
- Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies – copper, fiber (SM, MM, MPO), routing, dressing, and connectors.
- Experience handling and installing optical modules such as SFPs and QSFP style connectors.
- Experience with scoping and cleaning fibers (SC, LC, MPO styles).
- Experience racking and stacking equipment within existing racks.
- Experience patching fiber and copper cables.
- Proven experience in leading teams.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Experience with DC power and DC powered equipment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to document progress using customer tracking mechanisms, MS Office, and digital photos.
- Experience working in a Microsoft data center environment.
- Familiarity with telecom engineering designs specific to enterprise‑level data centers.
Data center, deployment, fiber optic cable, cable, rack and stack, cabling, troubleshooting, Cat6, Cat5, GPU.
Experience LevelIntermediate Level.
