About

The Role

Peraton is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. The candidate must be local to Columbus, Ohio, as this hybrid role requires working on‑site two days per week. The Business Analyst plays a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. This position is responsible for analyzing business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, and supporting the development of solutions that align with organizational goals and industry standards.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytically driven, and comfortable working with both business and technical stakeholders.

Day to Day

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives, workflows, and user needs
  • Gather, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements
  • Translate business requirements into clear system specifications for developers and project teams
  • Support the design and implementation of business information systems, including those for inventory, finance, human resources, customer service, and operational reporting
  • Conduct gap analyses and propose process improvements to increase efficiency and system effectiveness
  • Create use cases, process maps, and workflow diagrams to support solution design
  • Facilitate meetings, user interviews, and workshops to elicit requirements and validate solutions
  • Participate in testing activities, including test planning, test case development, and user acceptance testing
  • Coordinate with development teams to ensure deliverables meet documented requirements
  • Support change management, training, and adoption of new or updated systems
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience OR Associate's degree and 4 years of experience OR High School diploma and 6 years of experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency (Green Card holders) is required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Familiarity with data flow documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, present findings, and build consensus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an Agile or hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or data querying tools.
  • Exposure to tools such as Azure Dev Ops or Jira.
  • Knowledge of system integration, reporting tools, or basic data architecture concepts.
Salary & Benefits

Target Salary Range: $51,000 – $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
