Infrastructure Specialist 1
The Ohio Industrial Commission (OIC), Office of Information Technology, seeks a knowledgeable infrastructure specialist. The successful candidate must have experience in administering and supporting Microsoft operating systems, as well as excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Primary TechnologyMicrosoft Operating System
Responsibilities- Installs, maintains, configures, upgrades and/or administers hardware and/or software independently in workstation support, network administration, server administration, business continuity, information security, telecommunications and network connectivity, or SAN administration.
- Utilizes vendor supplied and third‑party utilities for monitoring.
- Diagnoses, analyzes and resolves issues for customers in the assigned technology domain.
- Provides Tier II–III level customer support.
- Conducts performance tuning for hardware and/or software.
- Develops and maintains documentation.
- Promotes system security and awareness by adhering to the Agency’s and/or State’s IT security policy(s) and standards.
- Develops and maintains ad‑hoc utilities or reports to automate processes.
- Stays current regarding new technologies, standards and techniques.
- Receives orientation related to mentorship and applies as necessary.
- Acts professionally, following the IC’s customer service standards and the agency’s Confidential Personal Information Policy.
- 36 months combined work experience in installing, monitoring, maintaining, configuring, upgrading, or administering a single technology domain including 12 months in the primary technology specified.
- Or completion of an associate core program in computer science or information systems with 18 months combined work experience in the same domain.
- Or completion of an undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems with 12 months combined work experience in the same domain.
- Or equivalent minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Work hours:
8:00 am–5:00 pm (flexible). - Compensation: $33.52 (Step 1).
