We are hiring Onsite Spanish Interpreters in the Columbus, Ohio area who possess a sincere desire to use their language skills to help people and have a passion for this work.
Contract Responsibilities- Provide consecutive in‑person and virtual interpretation by phone and video.
- Follow interpreter protocols and procedures required by Propio Language Services clients.
- Adhere to all Propio Language Services policies and procedures related to information confidentiality and interpreter ethics.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain quality service and positive interaction with patients, customers, visitors, health‑care providers, and clinical employees.
- Continuously improve vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge for clients such as medical, legal, social services, and others.
- Submit an updated resume in English at the time of application.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Have intermediate level computer skills.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Provide documentation of updated vaccinations (TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TDAP, Seasonal Influenza, and Covid‑19) as required by local regulations.
- Successfully complete a drug test and background/ security check.
- Sign a commitment to confidentiality, adhere to ethics, and comply with HIPAA.
- 1+ year of interpreting experience.
Propio’s evaluation process conforms to interpreting standards defined by the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC), International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA), and California Healthcare Interpreters Association (CHIA).
