Overview
What You'll Do In this position as an Administrative Law Judge for the Public Utilities Commission, you preside over Commission cases and draft decisions on behalf of the Commissioners. You will conduct settlement conferences in complaint cases, resolve procedural and discovery issues, conduct hearings and resolve evidentiary issues in natural gas, electric and power siting cases, analyze testimony and other evidence, draft ALJ entries, proposed Commission entries and orders, and provide training to Legal Aides and College Interns.
Other duties as assigned.
- Preside as an administrative law judge over Commission cases and draft decisions on behalf of the Commissioners
- Review initial case filings to determine appropriate procedural requirements
- Conduct settlement conferences in complaint cases
- Resolve procedural and discovery issues in assigned cases
- Conduct hearings and resolve evidentiary issues in natural gas, electric and power siting cases as well as other cases as assigned
- Analyze the testimony and other evidence presented at hearings
- Draft administrative law judge entries, proposed Commission entries and orders
- Provide training to Legal Aides and College Interns
- Other duties as assigned
- License to practice law within the State of Ohio
- Attorney/Legal with relevant experience in administrative law and utility regulation preferred
