This position is open to candidates located anywhere in the United States. While you will be able to work remotely, regular travel to our world headquarters in Marysville, a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, will be required.

You’ll be the creative heartbeat, partnering with our business unit leaders, media and digital teams, and some of the best external agencies to deliver ideas that make people stop scrolling, lean in, and say: “That’s Scotts Miracle-Gro? Wow.” You’ll also guide the strategic direction of our brand communications, ensuring that our voice and message resonate deeply with consumers to meet our business and brand objectives.
WhatYou’ll Do
Lead the charge on brand advertising and communications that make us impossible to miss and unforgettable once seen, owning the entire creative journey from initial strategy through execution and ongoing cultural activations.
Drive integrated creative campaigns across every touchpoint - TV, social, partnerships, PR, influencer, activations - for in-year executions and speed-to-culture moments.
Push boundaries while staying rooted in what matters most: helping people grow and care for living things, inspiring your team to be true creators who embrace agile ways of working.
Partner with internal teams (like Insights and Digital) and external agencies to deliver bold creative that actually works - on time and on point. You will actively manage these agency relationships, providing clear feedback and exploring new approaches to foster trust and accelerate decision-making.
Inspire and mentor a team of three direct reports (Art Director, Copywriter, Integrated Marketing Manager) to think bigger, sharper, and braver.
Own strategic discussions and recommendations with North American leadership teams, including your BU President, Platform lead, and CGO, facilitating dynamic collaborations across all creative and cross-functional partners to increase the cultural relevance of our brands.
A creative powerhouse with 10+ years of experience turning brands into cultural icons.
Someone who has led breakthrough integrated campaigns - TV to Tik Tok - and knows how to make work that travels.
A strategist who can align with business goals without losing creative soul, capable of inspiring consumer-centric thinking.
A leader who’s as comfortable in a pitch room as they are storyboarding on the fly, and adept at influencing senior stakeholders.
A human who actually loves plants, gardens, and green spaces - and knows that a lawn is more than grass, it’s a story waiting to be told.
