Job Description

What we need:
Energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and can serve in a key role within the Division of Engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Acts as assistant to the Business Operations Manager in overall management of the Business Office for the Division of Engineering and supervises staff.
  • Oversees and assists with monitoring, maintaining, and implementation of the capital/operating budget.
  • Approves statistical reports and financial statements for distribution including capital cash projections.
  • Prepares, plans, implements, monitors, and reviews capital allocation plans, expenditures, and assessment methods to ensure effective financial reporting for state and/or federal reports.
  • Reviews proposed legislation and/or policy changes to determine financial impact and establishes budget procedures in line with legislative/policy requirements.
  • Prepares and maintains various fiscal or budgetary reports, records, studies, and correspondence (e.g., payroll projections, budget outlay projections, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports).
  • Trains, confers, and advises managers concerning budget preparation, spending, and equipment/personnel needs.
  • May be expected to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Starting hourly pay of $35.68/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $50.75/hr.
  • There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA). Longevity pay supplements begin after five years of state service.
Qualifications

4 years of training or experience in accounting & auditing or business management; or completion of undergraduate core coursework in accounting or business management and 2 years of experience; or 12 months as Business Administrator 1 (63035) or 2 years as Business Services Officer (63311). Other equivalent qualifications may be considered.
