Position: Payments Risk Management Oversight Manager

Summary

Responsible for oversight within the First Line of Defense for Payments programs. Leading a team of analysts to minimize risk through continuous monitoring, testing and analysis, to ensure that payments activities are compliant with both the letter and spirit of applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.

Licenses/Certifications:

CRCM or other relevant professional certifications are a plus.

Experience:

Seven to ten years of regulatory compliance or risk management experience supporting consumer financial products or services at a large or complex banking institution, coupled with at least five years of managerial experience gained working in such capacity. Or equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • Acts as the primary point of contact for exams to lead, manage, and track all exams to ensure timeliness as well as consistency in approach, information, and operational readiness.
  • Manages a team of Analysts within the First Line of Defense (1

    LOD) providing oversight of the Payments programs through continuous monitoring, testing and analysis.
  • Performs Risk Assessments and gap analysis.
  • Maintains working knowledge of federal regulations applicable to Payments, and awareness of significant risk and control issues within Payments Division.
  • Aids in the development of and subsequently leads the Issue Management program within the 1

    LOD, including development of standards and procedures, action plans and reporting. Managing issues through to completion for both First Line and the programs under First Line oversight.
  • Identifies and analyzes trends/themes within large data sets.
  • Works with stakeholders to problem solve, define, develop and implement solutions in cross collaborative setting.
  • Manages multiple project initiatives to completion under deadlines.
  • Identifies meaningful metrics / KRIs / KPIs to inform on the health of the Payments programs and 1

    LOD controls; establishing efficient and effective governance and reporting.
  • Partners effectively with peers and colleagues within 1

    LOD and across various functions of the Bank to drive consistent and effective practices.
  • Works with the HR Manager to manage the execution of the training program to the first-line bank staff and third-party agents, including the oversight and development of monitoring standards and appropriate risk-based coverage of all significant first-line banking activities.
  • Works with HR to initiate corrective action and/or development plans, evaluate performance and develop staff members.
