Westlake is hiring a Tool & Die Technician for its vinyl siding extrusion operation in Columbus, OH.

Starting pay rate: $22.46 per hour + $1,000 Sign On Bonus

• Work 3-4 shifts per week and have a 3-day weekend every other week

• Monitors PVC extrusion operations to ensure the tool and die group adequately supports production
• Investigates and resolves product or process problems related to tooling
• Reads and properly interprets production schedules, product drawings, tooling drawings, and bills of process
• Gathers and analyzes data to determine potential problems with the tooling and effectively reports findings
• Identifies and develops process control improvement opportunities
• Communicates effectively, listens, follows instructions, records problems, and makes recommendations to correct discrepancies

• One (1) year of industrial experience
• Desired: AWS basic welding certification

Stand; walk; sit; use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Lifts, carries and/or moves up to 100 lbs. frequently. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Mobility required to cover both North & South Plant facilities.

This position works in a fast‑paced manufacturing facility. Noise level commensurate with large machinery. Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times; steel‑toed shoes and long pants are required. Temperatures in the building, although maintained, can be affected by outside weather conditions.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The pay range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, experience, and skill or. Westlake is a total compensation company.
