Packaging Machine Operator II Day Shift – Cencora

Location:

Columbus, OH

Job Details

This role is in support of American Health Packaging, a Cencora business offering pharma packaging services in the US.

$2,000 Sign On Bonus.

Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-complete.

Pay: $21.00 per hour.

Employment is subject to verification of pre‑hire tests, which may include drug screening and background check when permitted by state or local laws.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Verify and prepare repackaging material and equipment for production runs.
  • Responsible for packaging machine set‑up and changeovers for production runs, following work instructions, standards and SOPs, and identifying and resolving issues during set‑up and changeovers.
  • Operate packaging equipment, troubleshoot and make adjustments per work standards, and follow escalation protocol when troubleshooting fails.
  • Repackage raw material into finished products that meet packaging specifications and quality standards.
  • Work with maintenance for mechanical issues when escalation is needed.
  • Maintain production room and equipment cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Use batch record information to record and prepare accurate, complete information, applying basic mathematics.
  • Adhere to 5S principles and guidelines for efficient operations.
  • Participate actively in technical, compliance and other required training as an operations team member.
  • Assist in training new operators alongside the Operator III – Packaging Machine.
  • Adhere to cGMPs, safety regulations and SOPs.
  • Maintain good housekeeping throughout the shift.
  • Collaborate with AHP operations team members to meet or exceed quality and production goals.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance line efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partner with supporting areas such as quality to resolve issues preventing operational goal achievement.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Experience and Educational Requirements

Associate’s degree, completion of a vocational program or certification in manufacturing operations or equivalent preferred. Requires completion of a high school diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Minimum two (2) years of manufacturing experience required. One (1) year of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or another regulated industry such as FDC preferred.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for reading documents, product labels and instructions. Must have good written skills for accurately completing compliance documentation for production runs.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills; detail oriented.
  • Ability to use good judgment to carry out detailed instructions.
  • Basic problem‑solving capabilities for troubleshooting in the production environment.
  • Experience in 5S principles and practices.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
