Production Planner - Automotive Parts Manufacturer

An international automotive parts manufacturing company is currently searching for an experienced Production Planner to join their facility in the Columbus, Ohio area. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of production planning/coordinating experience in a manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, direct hire position.

• Oversee day-to-day scheduling and planning for production activities and associates
• Ensure proper inventory levels necessary for manufacturing and maintenance; create purchase requisitions and plan for future material needs
• Track incoming deliveries and communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, quality issues, etc.
• Assist with budget planning and cost reduction analysis
• Collaborate with other departments to determine future needs for materials / equipment / manpower, etc.
• Creation of activity and inventory reports for upper management
• Assist with production planning and supply chain operations for other company facilities, both domestic and overseas, as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in a supply chain or manufacturing field preferred
• 3-5 years’ work experience in production control, purchasing or procurement, or related field preferred, ideally within an automotive manufacturing environment
• Japanese language ability is a plus but not required
• Good computer skills with specific proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication ability in a multicultural environment
• Ability to prioritize tasks and good organizational skills
• While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
