Allied Mineral Products, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. We are looking for an energetic, motivated and results-oriented individual to join our Shapes Team. $750 Sign on Bonus.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Team Leader is responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring efficient workflow among shape technicians. This role involves assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The Team Leader also manages inventory processes using SAP, including posting inventory and recording consumption.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor progress of shape technicians to ensure completion of daily production schedule.
  • Train and mentor new employees on SOPs, processes, safety, and quality standards.
  • Uphold safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Reduce waste with effective control methods.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other departments.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of production.
  • Assist with projects as needed.
  • Work other shift hours as required by Supervisor or Plant Manager.

Qualifications
  • Must be physically and mentally fit for duty.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Dependable and able to maintain the attendance required to perform the job.
  • Must have attention to detail, ability to read and understand a tape measure and engineering prints.
  • Able to read, write, comprehend and fully understand: SOPs, SDSs, labeling, safety and health regulations, and procedures within the job, this job group and the plant.
  • Must have good leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Must have strong reasoning/problem solving.
  • Previous or current leadership position preferred.
  • Able to effectively use the kinds of hand and power tools typically found in the Shapes Department.
  • Able to use a computer to learn and navigate SAP to complete job functions.
  • Previous experience in operating a forklift and crane safely and efficiently is preferred.
  • Flexible with work schedule to achieve desired results which may include participating in shift hand-offs, extended shifts and call‑ins to support departmental needs.
  • Must be willing to participate in external training, which may include weekends and assigned out of the workplace study and reading.
Working Environment
  • The job can be in a dusty and dirty environment.
  • The job is in a non-temperature-controlled building.
  • Required to wear respirator, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 55 pounds constantly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to qualify for and wear a respirator.
  • Work requires sitting, standing, and/or walking for long periods of time.
  • The job requires a to work lifting, pulling, pushing, turning, stacking and carrying 55 pounds of unstable bags, drums, cartons, and pails consistently and frequently, therefore the candidate must be fit for duty.

It is understood that if a job is offered, applicant must consent to taking a pre-employment drug screening test and/or physical examination as a condition of beginning employment. It may also be required that a drug screening test and/or physical examination be taken in the future as needed to determine fitness for duty.
