Job Description & How to Apply Below
If you enjoy hands-on work, learning new equipment, and being part of a team that keeps production moving, you’ll feel right s role blends machine operation, welding support, material movement, and quality checks in a modern steel pipe fabrication environment.
What will I do?
Operate a variety of fabrication machines: plasma cutting equipment, cold saws, threading and grooving machines, grinders, and semi-automatic systems.
Prep steel pipe—cutting, grooving, threading, grinding, and finishing—to meet exact customer and production specs.
Assist with welding support activities, outlet placement, and automated/robotic fabrication processes.
Read and interpret work orders, production paperwork, specs, and tape-measure readings to ensure accuracy and quality.
Visually inspect materials, welds, and finished parts to verify dimensional accuracy and compliance.
Handle material flow: load, unload, stage, and organize pipe and fittings; move product via forklifts, pallet jacks, Combi Lift equipment, and overhead cranes.
Bundle, band, label, and ready finished goods for shipment.
Troubleshoot minor issues and communicate equipment/quality concerns quickly to leadership.
Maintain a neat, orderly workspace, following PPE requirements, SOPs, and lockout/tagout.
What experience helps me succeed?
Background in manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, machine operation, construction, mechanical trades, or general labor preferred.
Any exposure to steel fabrication, welding, robotics, or industrial production is a plus—not a must.
Mechanical aptitude and safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and production machinery.
Confidence reading a tape measure and doing basic math.
Comfort reading/following work instructions, production schedules, blueprints, or fabrication specifications.
Adaptability to shifting schedules, workflow demands, and priorities.
Forklift or material handling experience preferred.
Curiosity and willingness to learn fabrication processes, welding support, robotics, and machine operation through hands-on training.
What physical demands should I expect?
Standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, and repetitive motions for the duration of the shift.
Lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
Working safely around moving equipment, forklifts, cranes, sparks, welding operations, and fabrication machinery.
Operating in an industrial setting with noise, dust, heat, sparks, fumes, and related conditions.
What equipment will I learn and use?
Plasma cutting equipment
Cold saws and band saws
Pipe grooving and threading machines
Grinders and common hand tools
Semi-automatic fabrication and welding equipment
Forklifts, pallet jacks, Combi Lift equipment, and overhead cranes
How will I be trained and supported?
We provide on-the-job training in fabrication equipment, welding support functions, robotics, production processes, quality standards, and safety procedures. You’ll also receive ongoing guidance from Fabrication Leadership and Branch Operations Management and will be asked to support additional operational needs as they arise.
What does success in the first 90 days look like?
Consistently accurate measurements and part prep to spec.
Safe equipment operation, including adherence to PPE, SOPs, and lockout/tagout.
Basic troubleshooting and clear communication of equipment and quality concerns.
Reliable material movement and proper packaging/bundling for shipments.
Cross-training progress in welding support and/or robotics assistance.
A clean, organized work area that supports efficient production.
