Shift: Monday‑Friday 5:00am‑1:30pm alternating Saturdays 8:00am‑10:00am.
Required to travel to the prison as necessary due to staffing needs. Mileage will be reimbursed from the clinic to the prison, not from home to clinic.
Community Medical Services (CMS) is hiring a Nurse to process specimens and provide outpatient medication and treatment services for those with opioid use disorder. Under the supervision of the Nursing Manager, Director of Nursing, and Clinic Manager, the Nurse is responsible for administering medication to clients; assisting medical providers; conducting required testing; maintaining medication inventory and audit records; and providing support to the overall operations of the clinic.
Above all, the Nurse is responsible for providing patient‑centered care in a professional environment.

- Has experience with diagnostic testing and specimen collection.
- Likes to chat—you won’t be physically moving patients in this role, but you will be having conversations with them all day.
- Administer medications as ordered/prescribed by a CMS medical provider.
- Follow all medical provider orders.
- Monitor behavioral patterns, medical symptoms, and physical symptoms related to dosage, as well as other symptoms related to drug use (both licit and illicit) and mental health concerns.
- Obtain vital signs, blood specimens, and urine samples.
- Process point‑of‑care urine drug screens per company policy.
- Prepare take‑home medication (n/a in Montana).
- Monitor medication administration closely to prevent diversion.
- Report diversion to proper internal authorities.
- Maintain accurate client records in company’s EHR system.
- Document medication errors and respond to adverse medical reactions per company policy.
- Arrange temporary incoming and outgoing courtesy dosing clients.
- Deliver medications to external facilities.
- Order necessary dosing room and nursing‑related supplies.
- Order necessary medications (n/a in Montana).
- Maintain accurate medication inventory records.
- Adhere to all federal, state, local, and accrediting body regulations.
- Administer CPR, if necessary.
- Participate in continuing education and/or other job‑related training.
- Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Must be able to collect and process phlebotomy/venipuncture and capillary testing as ordered by provider.
- Licensed LPN or RN in the state of employment.
- CPR certification required.
- Ability to travel to assigned CMS sites.
- Experience in the field of substance use disorders preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of the signs of intoxication and opioid withdrawal symptoms.
- Demonstrates accuracy in medication administration and ability to maintain accurate client records.
