Job Description SummaryProvides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department operates 24/7/365.
Accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
Delegates nursing tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAPs) per the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients.
Responsibilities and Duties- Assessment/Diagnosis – performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment (30%).
- Outcomes Identification/Planning – documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes based on diagnoses (30%).
- Implementation/Evaluation – evaluates and documents response to interventions, revises plan of care (20%).
- Leadership – participates in process improvement activities for quality, satisfaction, and financial performance (10%).
- Operations – focuses on operational efficiency (10%).
- Focus on safety, quality and efficiency as part of a High Reliability Organization.
- Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio or active RN license in good standing with a multi‑state compact state.
- BLS certification.
- BSN required at 5 years of employment.
