Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool position in Ohio, requiring at least two years of PCU or stepdown experience and an active OH or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in the PCU Float Pool within a hospital setting
- May float to any stepdown or PCU area and possibly to other campuses with similar or lower acuity
- Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Typical patient ratio is 1:3-4
- Care for a variety of progressive care patients across multiple specialties
- Uses Epic EMR system;
Epic experience is required - Care responsibilities include telemetry monitoring and IV starts in a progressive care setting
- Potential to float between campus locations within the health system
- Time off requests must be submitted with initial application
- Urgent compliance with Ohio fingerprinting process is required for employment eligibility
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Active RN license in Ohio or compact state required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum of two years’ PCU or stepdown RN experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with IV starts and telemetry required
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Epic charting experience required
- Two professional references required, including one from a supervisor or charge RN
- Current employees at any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible
- Former employees eligible after six months away
