Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit / Med-Surg Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: February 23, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit with stroke unit focus, also caring for medical-surgical and other neurological patients
• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio across all shifts
• Epic electronic medical record system in use
• 24 hours of orientation provided; float to other units as operationally needed
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• 29-bed unit with daily census of 29; exposure to specialized procedures including TNK administration and lumbar drains

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit or Medical-Surgical nursing experience required
• Active RN license (valid Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Proficiency in neuro stepdown skills, telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip titration, IV starts/maintenance, and port management
• Experience with stroke patients, CVA care, post-TPA protocols, and pre/post neurosurgery highly valued
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• 2 professional references required; at least one from a manager or director-level supervisor
• Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
