Job Opportunity Position:
Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) Travel Nurse

Location:

City, State: (City, State)

Shift Information:

• Day Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM
• Night Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM
• Schedule:
  
  3x12-Hour Shifts
• Weekend Coverage:
  Every Other Weekend

Patient Care:

Estimated Patient Ratio: 1:1-2

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in Neuro ICU required.

Certifications:

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - AHA Certifications only

Essential

Skills:

• IV Start
• Telemetry
• Ventilator Management
• Intracranial Pressure Monitoring

EHR

Experience:

Experience with Epic preferred.

Patient Population:

The patient population includes individuals with:

• Ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes
• Subarachnoid hemorrhages
• Seizures
• Neuromuscular diseases (e.g., myasthenia gravis, Guillain-Barré syndrome)
• Meningitis
• Post-operative neurosurgery patients (e.g., spinal surgery, craniotomies)

Special Procedures/Unit Details:

• Bedside procedures including tracheostomy and PEG placement
• Central line and arterial line placement
• EVD (External Ventricular Drain) placement

Special Equipment:

• Invasive neuromonitoring (EVD monitoring and ICP monitoring)
• Mechanically ventilated patients
• EEG monitoring

Additional Information:

Position requires floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity.

Pre-approved time off: 2 requests allowed.

Orientation hours: 36 hours.
