American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring cardiac ICU skills and an active OH or compact license.

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting within a hospital
• Patient ratios approximately 1:1-2
• 3x12 hour Day (7:00-19:30) or Night (19:00-7:30) shifts available, 36 hours/week
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required, up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Sat/Sun days, Fri/Sat nights)
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Skills required:
  
  IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, conscious sedation, intra-aortic balloon pump, arterial line management
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care, CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and epicardial pacing wire management preferred
• ECMO, Impella, and LVAD/RVAD experience preferred
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and managing dysrhythmias
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor;
  Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients including pre/post cardiac catheterization and surgical patients
• Care for patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical circulatory support devices
• Perform sheath removal and manage patients on continuous IV sedation or paralytics as needed
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and manage patients with fresh tracheostomy or respiratory failure
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• First-time travelers not accepted for this position
• Former employees eligible for consideration after 6 months away from the facility; current employees ineligible
• RTO must be submitted with application and limited to 7 days or less, built into the contract
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
