American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring OH or compact license and prior CVICU nursing experience.

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital environment
• 13-week assignment with night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 36 hours per week with weekday and some weekend shifts required
• Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period (Friday/Saturday for night shift)
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Patient ratios of approximately 1:1-2
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS also required
• 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills required include IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA line management
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; a Charge RN reference is acceptable for the second; coworker references not accepted

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and various cardiac interventions
• Skills utilized may include CABG, TAVR, IABP, ECMO, LVAD/RVAD, CRRT, and cardiac drip titration among other advanced cardiovascular care competencies
• Manage patients requiring respiratory support including ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
• Previous travel experience preferred but first-time travelers may be considered
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for traveler positions
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract at time of consideration, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
