American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Surgical ICU position at a teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of recent ICU experience and a compact or OH RN license.

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting at a teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
• Floating required
• Call required
• Epic charting system experience preferred

• Active compact or OH RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Surgical ICU, Trauma ICU, Burn ICU, or Transplant ICU experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experience managing chronic/acute renal failure and IV insulin protocols
• Skilled in continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and vasoactive drip titration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
• Experience with post-neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury management
• Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience preferred
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor, and the second from a charge RN; no coworker references accepted

• Care for critically ill surgical patients requiring complex multisystem monitoring and intervention
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible for travel assignment at this location
• RTO must be submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict state compliance requirements
