American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring at least 1 year of telemetry experience, Epic proficiency, and an active OH or compact RN license.

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• 36 hours per week schedule
• Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30) and night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) options
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the OSU health system
• Monitors telemetry patients on the unit and remotely
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active RN license (OH state or compact) in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/telemetry RN experience required
• Must be able to pass a telemetry competency test
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and phlebotomy
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team activation
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, wound care, and insulin drip titration
• Experience with non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
• Experience with surgical drain management preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN; coworker references not accepted

• Provide direct patient care to telemetry/PCU patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates with only 1 year of experience will require manager review before an offer can be extended
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees of the facility are eligible to return as travelers after a 6-month break in service
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible for traveler positions
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing their contract due to strict compliance timelines
