Ohio State University – Wexner Medical Center — Columbus, OH
Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center spreads across seven hospitals in Columbus, and for nurses the acuity concentrates in three of them — University Hospital, the Ross Heart Hospital, and the freestanding James Cancer Hospital.
- University Hospital is an ACS Level I trauma center and holds central Ohio's only adult burn center and the region's only adult solid-organ transplant program — a base for trauma, burn, and transplant nurses.
- The Ross Heart Hospital is a dedicated cardiac hospital and the Arthur G. James is a freestanding NCI-designated comprehensive cancer hospital, so cardiac and oncology RNs work in purpose-built settings.
- Magnet across University Hospital, Ross Heart, and The James — and OSU was the first health system in central Ohio to earn Magnet.
- A Level III NICU, a Center for Neuromodulation, and a deep neuroscience program add further specialty tracks.
- The teaching hospital of the Ohio State University College of Medicine, carrying the volume of one of Ohio's largest academic systems.
