American Traveler is hiring an experienced Medical ICU RN with Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of MICU experience for a rotating day/night shift assignment.

• Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) setting in a hospital
• Patient ratios of approximately 1:1-2
• 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, rotating between day (7:00-19:30) and night (19:00-7:30) shifts on a 4-week rotation
• Epic EMR experience required
• Cares for patients with multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, COVID, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, and renal failure
• Utilizes continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemic patients and externalized IV pumps for COVID-positive patients
• Works with NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitors, GE ventilators, and in-room boom lifts

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Proficient in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, continuous IV sedation, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN may serve as the second reference; coworker references not accepted

• Provides direct patient care within a high-acuity Medical ICU environment
• Required to complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Candidates located outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location shortly after booking; those further away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees are eligible to return as travelers after a 6-month separation from the facility
• Current employees of the health system are not eligible for travel assignments at this location
• First-time travel nurses are not preferred for this role
