American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of PCU experience and an Ohio or compact RN license.

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) with telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:3
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekday and some weekend work required with rotating holiday coverage
• Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required, with strong Stepdown/PCU background
• IV start and telemetry skills required
• Competency in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, cardiac drip management (no titration), heparin protocols, and IV insulin protocols
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) use
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN; coworker references not accepted

• Provide comprehensive stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac, respiratory, and endocrine/metabolic management
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for travel assignment
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
