American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at an academic medical center requiring teaching hospital experience and OH or compact RN licensure.
Details- Float across SICU, NCCU, MICU, Cardiology, and CVICU based on competency, acuity, and staffing needs
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Typical ratios of ICU 1:1-1:2, PCU 1:3, and acute care 1:4
- 24/7 support from a Critical Care Float Pool Resource Nurse
- In rare extreme staffing situations, may be required to flex up by one additional patient in PCU or acute care
- Active OH or compact RN license required at time of submission
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Prior travel nurse experience required
- Experience with high-acuity critical care skills including IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, ventilator management, and cardiac drip titration
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required, at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted
- Care for complex, high-acuity patients across multiple critical care specialties
- Supported by an experienced team of more than 100 staff members
- Opportunity to strengthen clinical knowledge and expand critical care experience across diverse patient populations
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
- Current employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers at any Ohio State University hospital location
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract; local candidates must drive to a fingerprinting location and distant candidates will be mailed a fingerprinting packet
- RTO must be requested at time of submission and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
