American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, telemetry, neurological/psychiatric, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and plastics cases
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Floating required within the OSU hospital system

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, starting and maintaining IVs, PCA management, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, and total joint replacement care
• Preferred skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care, feeding tube management, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, wound care/wound vac, insulin drip titration, and ortho trauma experience
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted

• Provide nursing care for patients requiring progressive/intermediate level monitoring and intervention
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible to work as travelers
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of submission, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict credentialing timelines
