Job Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool RN – Ohio
Start Date: November 16, 2026 (Contract must extend through January 2, 2027)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts with minimum of every other weekend coverage
Highlights:
- Float to multiple ICU settings including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, CVICU, and Cardiology/Diagnostics units
- Dynamic critical care environment with exposure to diverse patient populations including transplant patients (kidney, liver, lung, heart)
- EPIC charting system in use facility-wide
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and more
- Float assignments based on staffing needs and patient acuity; nurses float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Advanced critical care skills utilized including ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, and hemodynamic monitoring
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system required
- Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
- Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of application)
- Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required (one must be from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
- Ability to complete urgent credentialing requirements including Ohio fingerprinting process
