Travel RN - Mother Baby - Post Partum

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum position requiring an OH or compact license and prior postpartum and L&D experience.

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of postpartum experience required
• IV start skills and labor & delivery (L&D) experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor;
  Charge RN acceptable for the second reference; no coworker references accepted

• Hospital setting on the Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• May float to other units of similar acuity
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide couplet care for mothers and newborns, including postpartum assessment and newborn care
• Skills include fundus/lochia/perineum care, breastfeeding instruction, cesarean section and vaginal delivery recovery, and management of postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Experience with Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, and antihypertensive administration preferred
• Newborn care responsibilities include cord care, newborn assessment, phototherapy, and discharge teaching to parents
• Experience with Level 1 Nursery care preferred
• First-time travel nurses are not preferred for this role
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Former employees eligible after a 6-month break from the facility; current employees are ineligible for travel assignments

• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
