American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications and at least 2 years of ICU/MICU experience.

• 13-week assignment in the Medical Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
• Adult patient population with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units within the organization may be required based on need
• Epic EMR used
• Navy blue scrub color required

• Active RN license (OH state or compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/MICU nursing experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in ventilator management, arterial/central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV sedation, and neuromuscular blockade required
• Competency in CRRT, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKG acquisition required
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation required
• Stroke and neuro care experience, including hypothermia protocol management, required
• Skilled in wound vac management, isolation precautions, and infection prevention
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN accepted as second reference; coworker references not accepted

• Responsibilities include comprehensive critical care for medically complex adult ICU patients, including multisystem organ dysfunction management
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after contract signing due to strict compliance timelines
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees are eligible for assignment consideration after a 6-month separation from the facility
• Current employees of the health system are not eligible for traveler positions
• Requested time off must be submitted and built into the contract at time of consideration, limited to 7 days or less
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
