American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring 2+ years of PCU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

• Provide care within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Patient ratio of approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients
• Utilizes skills in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Uses Epic for documentation
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Weekday schedule with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
• Must be willing to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
• 1+ year of charge experience preferred with strong Stepdown/PCU background (ICU experience not required)
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with central line and peripheral line care/management
• Experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias
• Experience with non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula use
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN or higher (coworker references not accepted)

• Care for patients in a progressive care/stepdown telemetry unit at a teaching hospital setting
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred but not required
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees are not eligible to work as travelers at this health system
• Locals are accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing their contract due to strict compliance timelines
