American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring telemetry experience and a rotating day/night schedule within a correctional healthcare setting.

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital environment
• Unit operates as a locked corrections unit requiring Corrections Officer (CO) access
• Patient population includes active oncology diagnoses (solid tumor and hematology) and patients admitted for other reasons with or without oncology history
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Rotating schedule of 3x12 hour Day and Night shifts, changing every 4 weeks
• Required to work every other weekend (Friday & Saturday)
• Float required within OSU system
• Preferred experience charting in Epic

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Previous telemetry experience required
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
• Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills
• Experience with rapid response/code teams
• Skilled in oxygen administration, nasal cannula use, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor;
  Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

• Provide direct nursing care to oncology and medical-surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring in a correctional healthcare environment
• Use isolation precautions and PPE as required
• Complete Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting promptly after accepting an offer, including a lifetime background check search
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former employees eligible for assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for this traveler position
