Research Senior Technician – Physiology & Cell Biology

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Research Senior Technician to support scientific investigations in the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology.

• Assist in designing, conducting, and troubleshooting experiments
• Perform molecular and cellular techniques, including PCR, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell culture, and Northern/Western blotting
• Sort and process tissues, and perform routine procedures on laboratory animals
• Record, consolidate, and analyze research data; assist in evaluating data validity
• Summarize data for grant proposals and manuscripts; prepare progress reports and support publication development (manuscripts, posters, abstracts)
• Conduct library and literature research on requested topics
• Maintain accurate laboratory records; assist with training of junior staff and students
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; monitor supplies, inventory, and initiate procurement requests

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience (minimum 4 years of relevant experience; or 2 years with an Associate’s degree; or 0 years with a Bachelor’s degree)
• Ability to translate, adapt, and apply academic or practical knowledge in biological/health science research
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in data analysis and reporting
• Experience with laboratory animal procedures and biosafety protocols is preferred
