Research Senior Technician - Comprehensive Cancer Center

The Research Senior Technician participates in planning, design, execution, and management of research projects in Dr. Liping Yang’s group ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Ohio State University. They help develop and implement goals and objectives of studies; design and execute complex laboratory experiments; perform advanced molecular and cellular techniques such as spectral flow cytometry, single-cell proteomics/genomics, CRISPR, highly multiplexed tissue imaging, spatial transcriptomics, etc.;

take care of mice, perform animal studies, handle weaning, genotyping, breeding, collect mouse tissues, and isolate mouse primary cells; collect, analyze, and interpret research data; assist with development and implementation of new or revised research methodologies and techniques; test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods and make recommendations for utilization; assist in establishing controls, criteria, and research standards; perform critical analysis of literature relevant to research;

assist in preparing research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at national conferences and workshops, and in writing project reports, articles, and other documents; assist the principal investigator in preparing proposals to obtain new or renewal of extramural funding in support of research; conduct library research on requested topics; oversee and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities; assist with training of junior research staff, undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation;

set up and operate laboratory equipment; monitor research supply, including specimens, inventory, and initiate procurement requests as needed.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate’s Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree. Ability to translate, adapt, and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required.
