This position supports a research laboratory focused on plant–nematode interactions. The Research Technician will maintain live nematode cultures (root‑knot, soybean cyst, and beet cyst), assist with research experiments, and ensure efficient daily laboratory operations. Core responsibilities include planting and inoculating host plants, extracting and counting nematodes, and contributing to molecular and physiological studies. The technician also oversees lab safety compliance, manages inventories, maintains permits and documentation, and trains students in essential nematology techniques.

- Oversee research data entry and ensure integrity of study data.
- Train and mentor students and staff on essential research equipment, laboratory procedures, and safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, optimize workflows, and refine methods.
- Prepare graphs, reports, and contribute to experimental design discussions.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
- Experience:
- 1 year of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, OR
- 3 years with an Associate’s degree, OR
- 5 years with a High School diploma.
- Preferred:
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in plant pathology, nematology, or molecular biology techniques.
