Recruiting a highly motivated and creative Research Scientist to join the Yang Lab, focused on tumor immunology, tumor microenvironment and tumor immunotherapy. The lab aims to uncover the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate immune responses in cancer, with a particular focus on tumor‑infiltrating immune cells and the dynamic interactions between tumor cells, stromal cells, and the immune microenvironment.
We are part of a vibrant research community with collaborations across immunology, oncology, genomics, and translational medicine. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead projects using state‑of‑the‑art techniques such as CRISPR screening, multi‑omics, high‑parameter flow cytometry, in vivo models, and translational studies.
ResponsibilitiesThe Research Scientist will act as an expert and resource in cancer genetics research; conceptualize, design, implement, evaluate, and direct research on cancer, including advanced molecular biology, cellular biology, immunology, and animal study techniques. Duties include developing and adopting new laboratory methods, hypothesis development, experimental design, grant proposal writing as principal investigator, grant administration and budgeting, troubleshooting, staff and researcher advising, educational workshops, data analysis methodology development, manuscript preparation, conference presentations, supervision of graduate students and staff, and training junior investigators.
Education and Experience Required- Doctorate (Academic) or equivalent combination of education and experience with a major in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field; extensive research experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to be a competent and productive researcher, with several publications of considerable interest and value to the field, and/or contributions of new designs or techniques that are of material significance in solving important applied problems.
- Experience with mouse models, flow cytometry, and molecular biology techniques.
