Postdoctoral Scholar

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher or Research Scientist to join the Department of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University, under the guidance of Drs. Jeffrey Horowitz and Richard Nho. This position focuses on research related to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), supported by a newly awarded R01 grant.

• Investigating the pathological functions of lactate in the development of lung fibrosis
• Elucidating mechanisms of myofibroblast differentiation and apoptosis resistance via cellular communication
• Exploring the role of fibrotic fibroblasts in the pathogenesis of IPF

• Plan, design, and execute experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the research lab
• Collect and analyze data for research sponsored by appropriate agencies and institutions
• Identify and troubleshoot new experimental techniques and protocols
• Attend research seminars and contribute to manuscript preparation
• Support technical writing and participate in grant application preparations for extramural funding
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Extensive expertise in cellular and molecular biology (required)
• Experience with in vivo experimental techniques (highly desirable)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
