Post Doctoral Scholar - Comprehensive Cancer Center

ResponsibilitiesThe Post Doctoral Scholar will pursue specialized research training under the guidance of scientific mentor Dr. Liping Yang at the Comprehensive Cancer Center. The research involves dissecting mechanisms of transformation of immunosuppressive cells within the tumor microenvironment (TME) and engineering targeted therapeutics to modulate the TME. Methods include biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, molecular biology, proteomics, animal modeling, mouse genetics, translational medicine, and human tumor models.
The scholar will also analyze data for grant reports, train staff in molecular biology techniques, and assist the PI with grant proposals.
- A Doctoral degree (within 3 years) in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in a research capacity.
- Strong background in immunology, cell biology, or cancer research.
- Experience with mouse models, flow cytometry, and molecular biology techniques.
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- First-author publications in peer-reviewed journals preferred.
- Experience with CRISPR-based functional screening is a strong plus.
