Temporary (Fixed Term). The appointment lasts from June 1 to July 31, 2026, with flexible beginning and end dates.
Responsibilities- Works with Stone Lab Research Coordinator and visiting professors on a research project focusing on an environmental issue affecting the Lake Erie region.
- Reviews relevant literature on the research project.
- Conducts research, which may involve sample collection aboard Stone Laboratory research boats on Lake Erie, hiking in forests and meadows, or another outdoor environment.
- Might work with chemicals or handle vertebrates based on the research project.
- Conducts data analysis and report writing.
- Attends weekly program meetings and gives an oral presentation at the end of the program.
- Maintains a clean laboratory and follows laboratory safety protocols.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- A current college student who will not graduate before July 2026, majors in biology, ecology, environmental science, engineering, or a similar field.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
