Overview
Retail Assistant Store Manager-Easton Station at Bath & Body Works
As an Assistant Store Manager, you will partner with the Store Manager to develop associates, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and positively impact growth across Bath & Body Works. Our store leaders are retail and customer-savvy, brand ambassadors who thrive on connections with customers.
Responsibilities- Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent.
- Set and reinforce clear performance expectations, results goals, and accountability with all associates.
- Complete leadership tasks as delegated by the store manager, including acting as manager on duty to address customer experience, vendor relationships, or maintenance issues.
- Partner with the sales leadership team to support action plans that improve results and ensure effective execution of operational activities.
- Implement and sustain floorset direction to optimize the business and bring the product story to life.
- Perform opening and closing routines, including bank deposits, receipt of shipments, and dissemination of company directives.
- Set the direction and daily goals for the shift when associates arrive.
- Provide individual and team performance feedback and recommendations to managers.
- Meet payroll targets by ensuring appropriate sales floor coverage and a selling focus.
- Lead in-store customer experiences through selling behaviors, product knowledge, and engagement.
- Create genuine connections with customers through uncovering needs, product information, demonstrations, and personalized recommendations.
- Train, coach, reward, and motivate associates to improve selling and the customer experience.
- Reinforce selling expectations, performance, results, and accountability with all associates.
- Maintain physical activity requirements: standing, walking, reaching, lifting; ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Adhere to safety standards to provide a safe, clean, and engaging store environment.
- Maintain values, policies, and procedures.
- Proven experience delivering sales, customer experience, and operational results in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a manager role, preferably in retail.
- Thrive in a customer-first retail environment and foster a customer-focused selling culture.
- Effective communication, openness to feedback, and adaptability.
- Ability to provide in-the-moment coaching to associates.
- Ability to de-escalate store and customer situations effectively.
- Availability to work peak days and varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.
