Prepared Foods Team Member (Deli Service Counter & Culinary Venues) - Full Time

Prepared Foods Team Members provide savory and comforting foods at our Deli Service Counter while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and teamwork in a high‑volume retail environment. The role includes preparing, displaying, and serving a variety of hot and cold foods, ensuring freshness and quality, and delivering courteous service to customers and fellow Team Members.

Base Pay Range

$16.00/hr - $25.40/hr

Responsibilities
  • Cuts, prepares, and serves a variety of hot and cold foods, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizza.
  • Samples products to customers.
  • Stocks hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods from the kitchen, walk‑in preparation areas, and refrigerators.
  • Checks product dates for fresh inventory and rotates stock as needed.
  • Handles recyclables, consolidates and disposes of them appropriately.
  • Assists the Team Leader in organizing and displaying seasonal and high‑volume items.
  • Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
  • Participates in periodic inventory checks.
  • Arrives on time, groomed, dressed properly, and ready to work; attends all scheduled shifts and required trainings.
  • Provides excellent customer service, addressing needs promptly, and models suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising practices.
  • Follows or ensures compliance with Weights and Measures, health and sanitation procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Maintains a clean, sanitary working and shopping environment; keeps equipment in good working order.
  • Performs opening, mid‑day, and closing duties; verifies signage and pricing accuracy.
  • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.

Desired Work Experiences
  • No prior retail experience required.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Standing/walking 6–8 hours in an 8‑hour shift.
  • Uses hands, grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Required motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA‑approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures: < 32°F (freezing), 32–40°F (fridge), > 90°F.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Uses tools and equipment, such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
  • Might require ladder use.
