Market Specialist

JOB TITLE: Mid-Ohio Market Staff Specialist

STATUS: Full Time, Non-exempt

REPORTS TO: Mid-Ohio Market Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: None

Under the supervision of the Market Manager, this position will be responsible for supporting day- to-day operations of the Mid-Ohio Market. This position will also provide oversight and coaching of,volunteers and any temporary employees. The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that the entire Market operation reflects Liberians in Columbus, Inc. (LICI) and Mid-Ohio Market/Mid-Ohio Food Collective’s(MOFC) core values of empowerment, cultural pride, community and development.

• Provides excellent customer service to all those who visit the Market.
• Trains and engages volunteers who support daily operational tasksand special projects.
• Coordinates with Market Manager on leadership of the team and ensures all tasks are covered by volunteers.
• Preps and stocks product for the Market and works with the Market Manager to ensure consistent product ordering.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following safety practices and policies.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment that accurately reflectsLICI and MOFC's brand and commitment to excellence.
• Provides continuity in program leadership when the Market Manageris not on-site.
• Participates in special projects as requested.

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Licenses/Designations: Food Safety Certification(provided by Mid-Ohio Food Collective). Equipment Operator Certification (provided by Mid-Ohio Food Collective).

Experience: At least one year of experience providing excellent customer service. One year of warehouse experience including use of electric pallet jack. Working knowledge of general warehouse machinery and operations.

Knowledge: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.

Skills/

Competencies:

Must have good customer service and communication skills. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.

Working Conditions: This job requires working some evening and weekend hours. Must be able to: perform moderate toheavy physical labor (must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.). Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling. Must work in various climate temperatures (coolers, warehouse, etc.). The Specialist willbe expected to work one Saturday per month and at least one day thatwill be considered a "long day" day of nine hours.

Schedules, once confirmed will remine in effect for 180 days.

Probationary Period: New hires will be placed on a90-day probationary period. During that time, supervision will occurwith the Market Manger.
