Senior Sales Executive – Forward Air Corporation

Compensation: $100,000–$130,000 plus commission.

As a Senior Sales Executive within our direct sales organization, you will be responsible for maintaining and strengthening customer relationships within a defined territory assignment of large enterprise customers. You must be comfortable operating in a complex selling environment of large multi‑national companies, creating opportunities for account growth while offering customers a full array of value‑added services from the Forward portfolio.

Your ability to identify signing versus buying authority and build a sales strategy to nurture, penetrate and grow the customer relationship will be essential to achieving personal and company sales goals in a fast‑paced environment for large customers.

Core Responsibilities & Duties
  • Develop new business and grow revenue by identifying potential new customers, conducting background research, discussing supply chain needs with decision makers, and implementing solutions.
  • Maintain existing business by understanding customer needs and collaborating with customer success executives to ensure retention and expansion.
  • Coordinate with internal teams—including product sales and customer success—to provide a seamless customer experience.
  • Engage regularly with customers to maximize utilization of the Forward portfolio.
  • Deliver outstanding communication and business reviews; foster strong relationships.
  • Leverage technology tools (internal systems, mobile devices, PowerPoint) for precise customer communications.
  • Lead internal initiatives, demonstrating organization, discipline, and adaptability.
  • Monitor competitor actions and formulate appropriate responses.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of enterprise‑level sales experience, preferably in transportation or logistics.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and growing market share.
  • Experience selling to enterprise customers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of CRM software (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
Skills
  • “Can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic.
  • Ability to perform in a fast‑paced, high‑volume sales environment.
