Key Account Executive - Drive Systems and Services
SUMMARY OF ROLE:
This individual will be responsible for managing and developing customers in the assigned geography and/or industry segment while achieving sales quota for the systems drive business. Prior experience in drive system/industrial automation field selling equipment for capital projects required. Individual should live within the territory and travel will be 60-70% within the assigned territory.
- Create, maintain and achieve regional sales plan objectives.
- Recruitment, development and management of sales channels (reps, distributors, integrators) for the Drive Systems business.
- Create sales programs particular to the region of responsibility.
- Develop and maintain contact with key customers on an ongoing basis and develop major customer proposals and business activity.
- Work with Marketing Team to execute marketing programs, staff trade shows and perform lead follow-up.
- Communicate customer feedback/needs to R&D for new product developments.
- Demonstrate the ability to work within cross functional teams; the position requires working diligently with the Field Service and Engineering teams.
- Travel 60-70% within the assigned territory.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred or equivalent experience within the technical areas.
- Strategic selling methodologies such as:
Miller Heiman Professional Sales Training is a plus. - Target Account Selling Training is a plus.
- Five (5) years’ experience in the drive system/industrial automation field selling equipment for capital projects.
- Specific knowledge of AC/DC MV and LV Drives and Motors along with associated SCADA/PLC control systems.
- Experience selling in Oil & Gas pipeline, Midstream LNG and Chemical processing markets preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Sales or Territory Management.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve assigned budget and performance metrics.
- Strategic selling and territory planning skills.
- Experience and proven success track record of managing channels (Reps and Distributors) preferred.
- Proven history of managing a multi-state territory is preferred.
- Knowledge of is a plus.
- Growth and commercially oriented
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and non-verbal)
- Very comfortable with customers at all levels of the organization and a customer advocate
- Conceptual based selling verses Transactional based selling
- Strong work ethic and results driven
- Respect for others and high integrity
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Experience with a CRM system a plus
