Key Account Executive - Drive Systems and Services

SUMMARY OF ROLE:
This individual will be responsible for managing and developing customers in the assigned geography and/or industry segment while achieving sales quota for the systems drive business. Prior experience in drive system/industrial automation field selling equipment for capital projects required. Individual should live within the territory and travel will be 60-70% within the assigned territory.

PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create, maintain and achieve regional sales plan objectives.
  • Recruitment, development and management of sales channels (reps, distributors, integrators) for the Drive Systems business.
  • Create sales programs particular to the region of responsibility.
  • Develop and maintain contact with key customers on an ongoing basis and develop major customer proposals and business activity.
  • Work with Marketing Team to execute marketing programs, staff trade shows and perform lead follow-up.
  • Communicate customer feedback/needs to R&D for new product developments.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work within cross functional teams; the position requires working diligently with the Field Service and Engineering teams.
  • Travel 60-70% within the assigned territory.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred or equivalent experience within the technical areas.
  • Strategic selling methodologies such as:
    Miller Heiman Professional Sales Training is a plus.
  • Target Account Selling Training is a plus.
Experience
  • Five (5) years’ experience in the drive system/industrial automation field selling equipment for capital projects.
  • Specific knowledge of AC/DC MV and LV Drives and Motors along with associated SCADA/PLC control systems.
  • Experience selling in Oil & Gas pipeline, Midstream LNG and Chemical processing markets preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Sales or Territory Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve assigned budget and performance metrics.
  • Strategic selling and territory planning skills.
  • Experience and proven success track record of managing channels (Reps and Distributors) preferred.
  • Proven history of managing a multi-state territory is preferred.
  • Knowledge of  is a plus.
