Parts Specialist
Power Distributors, LLC is the Sales and Distribution arm for Briggs & Stratton, the leading manufacturer of air‑cooled gasoline engines and parts for outdoor power equipment. Briggs & Stratton engines are incorporated into products for both the consumer market and industrial/commercial applications. Power Distributors also manages the sales and marketing of Briggs & Stratton Power consumer & commercial generators and pressure washers, and distributes Oregon Equipment Parts, Oregon Forestry products, and other allied parts lines.
Summaryof Duties
This role reports directly to the Vice President of Sales and is located in our Columbus, OH office. The Parts Specialist focuses on all brands of replacement parts for engines and outdoor power equipment, optimizing inventory and developing competitive parts programs for our customers.
Main Responsibilities- Monitor the entire parts inventory across all brands to identify overstock issues and improve inventory turns
- Conduct competitive program analysis and tracking
- Identify and develop cross‑reference material
- Collaborate with the in‑house Education team to develop product training material for internal and external users
- Partner with the Marketing department to develop and implement parts programs
- Collaborate closely with the Sales Group, including regional travel to visit customers
- OPE industry experience is required; applicants without direct OPE experience will not be considered
- Knowledge and experience with OEM and aftermarket parts reference systems
- Experience with industry‑specific software such as Part Smart, JD Point, C Systems, and others
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Proven analytical ability to gather, manipulate, and analyze data; report findings and make recommendations
- Excellent organization, multitasking, and attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
- Capable of making presentations in a group setting
- Strong team player who goes beyond the normal scope of the job
- Self‑motivated, initiative‑driven, and sense of urgency
- Flexible to work additional hours as dictated by business needs
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- High tolerance for a fast‑paced, demanding environment
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Full‑time position located in the corporate office. Days and hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
