Overview
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a PhD or MD/PhD researcher to join the Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.
Duties And Responsibilities- Conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements and conducts research studies; develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain extramural funding to support the research program; obtains and maintains NIH R01 or equivalent funding
- Writes and publishes research in high-quality peer-reviewed journals; presents at national and international conferences; develops national and international scholarly reputation
- Instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participates in department, college and university committees and initiatives
- PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field
- Postdoctoral research experience in basic science research
- Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in peer-reviewed journals (preferred)
- Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01)
- Academic experience is a plus
- Qualify for academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level; salary and rank commensurate with prior training and experience
The Division of Vascular Diseases and Surgery specializes in the comprehensive care of diseases of the arteries, veins and lymphatic system. The division performs endovascular and open vascular procedures and emphasizes translational, multidisciplinary research across the Heart and Vascular Center and related institutes. The college supports NIH-funded researchers and a robust research environment.
