Security Officer (HS)
Department: Health System Shared Services | Security
Responsibilities- Patrols, monitors, investigates and communicates regarding all aspects of Security and Public Safety.
- Serves as first line of contact for the department.
- Provides a safe, secure environment for staff, visitors, and patients within the Medical Center Complex and contracted facilities.
- Reports Public Safety and security concerns.
- Operates security vehicles.
- Staffs fixed posts.
- Makes designated rounds.
- Enforces rules.
- Investigates violations.
- Assists community police and fire officials.
- Assists in restraining combative patients.
- Performs escorting, lockout and jump‑starting services.
- Driver's License required; position located at University Hospitals.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Certification or vocational training may be preferred.
- 1 year of relevant experience required.
- 2‑4 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License.
- Must serve a 12‑month probationary period from date of employment.
- Selected candidate subject to successful completion of a psychological evaluation.
