Position: Security Officer (HS)

Security Officer (HS)

Department: Health System Shared Services | Security

Responsibilities
  • Patrols, monitors, investigates and communicates regarding all aspects of Security and Public Safety.
  • Serves as first line of contact for the department.
  • Provides a safe, secure environment for staff, visitors, and patients within the Medical Center Complex and contracted facilities.
  • Reports Public Safety and security concerns.
  • Operates security vehicles.
  • Staffs fixed posts.
  • Makes designated rounds.
  • Enforces rules.
  • Investigates violations.
  • Assists community police and fire officials.
  • Assists in restraining combative patients.
  • Performs escorting, lockout and jump‑starting services.
  • Driver's License required; position located at University Hospitals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Certification or vocational training may be preferred.
  • 1 year of relevant experience required.
  • 2‑4 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License.
  • Must serve a 12‑month probationary period from date of employment.
  • Selected candidate subject to successful completion of a psychological evaluation.

Background Check: Final candidates subject to successful completion of a background check; a drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
