Job Description

As a Security Officer - Utilities Patrol Lead in Columbus, OH
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a leading utilities location, you will conduct regular patrols and remain highly visible to deter security‑related incidents. Your presence and professionalism will maintain a secure environment while providing outstanding customer service.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, following site‑specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, maintaining order at the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and surrounding perimeter to deter potential issues and observe unusual activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior or unauthorized access in accordance with Allied Universal protocols.
• Document observations, incidents, and activities during patrols as required by site procedures.
• Collaborate with site personnel and local authorities to support a secure environment.
• Remain alert to potential hazards and report maintenance or security‑related concerns to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 2 years of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants with criminal histories will be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required only for driving positions.
