- 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Roles include two consecutive days off. Candidates must be willing to work weekends.
Job SummaryProviding a safe, secure environment for our workforce and visitors is essential Armed Protective Services Officers patrol and respond to incidents in Nationwide owned buildings and surrounding campuses. Our Protective Services Officers assist associates with Protective Services and safety‑related issues.
As an Armed Protective Services Officer, you will contribute to the secure and safe environment will conduct armed patrols of the facilities and report and/or take action to correct or prevent violations of the company protective services policy.
You’ll proactively investigate crimes and unusual, suspicious, or dangerous incidents and resolve these situations. Should the need arise, you’ll execute life safety procedures to protect the lives of associates in various emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to emergency situations, e.g., workplace violence, violent offenders, associates stranded in elevators, accidents, fires, medical emergencies, crimes in progress, alarm notifications.
- Patrol buildings and campuses on foot, bike, or car to provide physical protective services and safety protection for associates, customers, the public, and property.
- Write initial loss/stolen or incident reports and conduct follow‑up investigations, including reviewing documents, video, talking with suspects and victims.
- Intervene in situations that pose imminent risk of harm to associates, customers, the public, or property.
- Enforce company protective services and life safety policies.
- Provide associate escorts to and from facilities.
- Assist with on‑the‑job training of new Protective Service Officer associates at all locations.
Reports to Supervisor, Armed Protective Services. This is an individual contributor role.
Typical Skills and Experiences- Education: High school diploma required. Bachelor or technical school degree preferred.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of related Protective Services experience; law enforcement or military experience desired.
- License/Certification/Designation: Must meet all required training standards and maintain annual firearm licensure and/or taser qualifications. Must successfully pass a criminal background check, psychological assessment, and pre‑employment physical evaluation.

Skills:
Proven knowledge of corporate safety and protective services practices, equipment, and procedures. Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds (occasionally up to 80 pounds), stand for extended periods, ride a bicycle up to 10 miles, and perform various movements. Must possess personal computer skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Conditions- Overtime Eligibility: Eligible (Non‑Exempt)
- Working Conditions: Work often conducted outdoors in varying weather conditions. The standard workday is eight hours, which includes a paid lunch period. Must be able to work non‑standard hours, including overtime, as needed. Must have a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Must have adequate vision and hearing to safely use a firearm and perform other essential duties.

- Background Check: A criminal check will be done annually for all Protective Services associates. A Motor Vehicle report will be conducted annually.
