- Repair all-makes all-models general truck and trailer repair as well as diesel and gas engines, emission-related issues, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical, hydraulic systems, and other problems as identified.
- Initiate diagnosis of the vehicle’s problem(s). Drive to the vehicle location, hook up the computer and diagnose the problem area(s).
- Follow all safety guidelines:
Use of wheel chocks; lock out/tag out; all other safety requirements set by OSHA and Young Truck Sales. - Order parts to complete repairs from the shop’s parts counter.
- Clean, organize and maintain the mobile service vehicle as practical between repair jobs.
- Document the story of the details of the repair.
- High school education or its equivalent is required. Vocational degree or ASE certifications in diesel engine repair or its equivalent is preferred with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license with the ability to be insured by the Company’s motor vehicle insurance carrier.
- Class A – CDL preferred with a medical card.
- Ability to walk up to ½ mile in all weather. Ability to climb into the cab of a truck. Ability to walk up and down stairs. Ability to bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 lb.
- Possess good time management, ability to prioritize, attention to detail, and basic computer skills.
- Experience with all makes truck and trailer repair and maintenance.
- Good communication and excellent customer service skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and outside–the–box thinking.
