Responsibilities
  • Repair all-makes all-models general truck and trailer repair as well as diesel and gas engines, emission-related issues, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical, hydraulic systems, and other problems as identified.
  • Initiate diagnosis of the vehicle’s problem(s). Drive to the vehicle location, hook up the computer and diagnose the problem area(s).
  • Follow all safety guidelines:
    Use of wheel chocks; lock out/tag out; all other safety requirements set by OSHA and Young Truck Sales.
  • Order parts to complete repairs from the shop’s parts counter.
  • Clean, organize and maintain the mobile service vehicle as practical between repair jobs.
  • Document the story of the details of the repair.
Requirements
  • High school education or its equivalent is required. Vocational degree or ASE certifications in diesel engine repair or its equivalent is preferred with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license with the ability to be insured by the Company’s motor vehicle insurance carrier.
  • Class A – CDL preferred with a medical card.
  • Ability to walk up to ½ mile in all weather. Ability to climb into the cab of a truck. Ability to walk up and down stairs. Ability to bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 lb.
  • Possess good time management, ability to prioritize, attention to detail, and basic computer skills.
  • Experience with all makes truck and trailer repair and maintenance.
  • Good communication and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and outside–the–box thinking.
